Nuclear structure of 179Hf studied with (n, γ), (d, p) and (d, t) reactions

Abstract

The nucleus 179Hf was studied with (n, γ), (n, e), (d, p) and (d, t) measurements. A level scheme was established up to 2 MeV consisting of 56 levels including 245 secondary γ-transitions. Forty-eight levels have been grouped into rotational bands built on sixteen intrinsic states of both one-quasiparticle and vibrational character. The neutron binding energy was determined to be 6099.06 (10) keV.
