Abstract

An accurate measurement of the threshold energy for the reaction 14N(p, n)14O has been made. The value found, 6353.6 ± 0.40 keV, is lower than but compatible with the previous most accurate measurement. Together with the known excitation energy of the 14N 0+ state this result yields a value of 1808.7 ± 0.4 keV for the 14O+)14N Q-value.
