Vector analyzing power and cross section for (d, t) and (d, 3He) reactions on 64Zn at Ed = 13 MeV

Abstract

The vector analyzing power iT11(θ) and absolute cross section σ(θ) for 64Zn(d, t)63Zn and 64Zn(d, 3He)63Cu have been measured at a deuteron energy of 13.0 MeV. Transitions to three states of 63Zn (Ex = 0.0, 0.19 and 0.25 MeV), and to the g.s. of 63Cu were studied. Measurements of σ(θ) and iT11(θ) were also made for deuteron elastic scattering from 64Zn. The analysis of the elastic scattering data provided deuteron optical-model parameters that were used in DWBA calculations. Comparison of the data with DWBA predictions permits the unambiguous determination of Jπ for the four transitions studied.
