2016, Progress in Particle and Nuclear PhysicsCitation Excerpt :This strength has been classified as “Pygmy” resonance, since its size is much smaller than the IVGDR one, in general few percents of the total sum rule for isovector dipole electric transitions. An overview of the experimental data and methods, up to the year 2012, can be found in Ref. [51]. In heavy asymmetric nuclei a neutron skin appears, i.e. a neutron radius substantially larger than the proton one.
