Abstract

The following reaction cross sections have been measured using the activation method: 40Ar(n, α)37S, 31±5 mb; 48Ti(n, α)45Ca, 39±6 mb; 50Ti(n, α)47Ca, 9.4±3 mb; 62Ni(n, α)59Fe, 22±3 mb; 106Cd(n, α)103Pd, 100±40 mb; 108Cd(n, 2n)107Cd, 504± mb; 110Cd(n, p)110Ag, 27±5 mb; 111Cd(n, p)111Ag, 14±1.4 mb; 112Cd(n, α)109Pd, 2.4±0.4 mb; 112Cd(n, p)112Ag, 11±1 mb; 113Cd(n, p)113Ag, 7.9±0.8 mb; 114Cd(n, α)111mPd, 0.2±0.03 mb; 114Cd(n, α)111gPd, 0.5±0.08 mb; 116Cd(n, α)113Pd, 0.5±0.5 mb; 116Cd(n, p)116Ag, 0.2±0.1 mb; 116Cd(n, 2n)115mCd, 730±60 mb; 116Cd(n, 2n)115gCd, 857±70 mb; and 206Pb(n, α)203Hg, 2.7±0.5 mb. The results were found to be in fairly good agreement with the semi-empirical predictions of Gardner, Yu and Rosenblum.

Compared with the excitation function of default input parameters, the excitation function of adjusted input parameters is in better agreement with experimental data within the experimental error. For the 50Ti(n,x)47Ca reaction, it can be easily found from Fig. 7 that our experimental value at the neutron energy of about 14.0 MeV is in good consistent with those of the previous experimental data from Yu and Gardner (1967), Yuan et al. (1992), Subasi et al. (1996), Ikeda et al. (1988) and Zhou et al. (2019) within the experimental error. Experimental value of Bovisio de Ricabarra et al. (1993) is significantly higher than those of others at the corresponding energy.

Thus, the IR values listed in Table 3 are based on the reaction cross-sections in Ref. [26] instead of Ref. [20] because the available data are for higher neutron energies in Ref. [26]. The IR value estimated from the cross-sections of Ref. [26] is similar to those of other works [21–25]. The measurement replicates in calculating the IRs lead to uncertainties.
