Abstract

The 6Li(d, α)4He reaction induced by vector polarized deuterons was investigated at five incident deuteron energies between 4 and 12 MeV. The asymmetry of the reaction was measured for each energy as a function of reaction angle, and large asymmetries were observed. The reaction would be suitable as a vector polarization analyser between 6 and 11 MeV. The results have been fitted with an expansion of associated Legendre polynomials requiring high angular momentum values up to l = 8.
