Abstract

Analyzing powers and spin correlation parameters have been measured for d-3He elastic scattering at energies Ed = 3.73 to 11.89 MeV at θc.m. = 49.5°, 95.3°, and 120.0°. The LASL polarized beam was incident on a polarized 3He target constructed at Rice. The geometry of the experiment permitted the measurement of the parameters: Cy, Ayy, Axx, Azz, AyT, Cy, y, Cx, x, Cz, x, Cyy, y, and Czz, y. The measured analyzing powers for deuterons and 3He agree with earlier measurements. Some of the spin correlation parameters exhibit magnitudes which are comparable to the largest analyzing powers.
