Abstract

Angular distributions have been measured for the (6Li, 6He) reaction on the targets 19F, 27Al [E(6Li) = 34 MeV] and 58, 60, 64Ni[E(6Li) = 36 MeV]. Upper limits are given for the cross sections for the 40Ca(6Li, 6He)40Sc and 88Sr(6Li, 6He)88Y reactions at E(6Li) = 38 MeV. The spectra were obtained with 60 cm long position sensitive counters in a magnetic spectrograph with a resolution around 50 keV. A strong Q-value dependence on the cross section is observed. The data are analyzed using DWBA with a microscopic description of the reaction. The σσττ two-nucleon force strength extracted from the analysis shows variations that indicate that two-step processes could be important.
