Abstract

Angular distributions for the differential cross sections σ0(θ) and the vector analyzing powers iT11(θ) for 76, 78, 80, 82Se(d, d) scattering at 12 MeV incident deuteron energy, have been analyzed using a coupled-channel Born approximation. Two-step scattering processes involving inelastic excitations and single-neutron transfer reactions, have been included in the analysis. Detailed study of these processes has been carried out in order to determine their relative strengths and their parameter dependence. Excitation of 21+ states is found to dominate over all other second-order processes considered here and it has a strong influence upon the elastic scattering.
