Abstract

The total neutron cross sections of Cl, 51V, 89Y, Zr, La, 141Pr and 209Bi have been measured. Experimental data were fitted with a multi-level formula to obtain the individual resonance parameters. Values of the strength functions S0 and S1 and of the scattering lengths R′ are obtained and compared with optical-model calculations.
