Abstract

The γ-decay of T = 32 states in 41Ca has been investigated by means of the 42Ca(τ, αγ)41Ca reaction. The γ-rays in coincidence with α-particles emitted near 0° were detected at four angles with Ge(Li) detectors. Angular correlation measurements have been performed for the γ-decay of the first T = 32 state at 5.82 MeV. Branching ratios are extracted for the levels at 5.82 MeV (32+, T = 32), 5.96 MeV (12+, T = 12) and 6.82 MeV (12+, T = 32). DSA measurements assign an upper limit of 40 fs to the lifetime of the two T = 32a levels. The levels at 4.09 and 4.73 MeV are suggested to have a [(f722)j = 1, t = 0d32] configuration.
