Internal conversion M/L and (N+O)/M ratios for E2 transitions

Abstract

Internal conversion M/L ratios were measured for 12 transitions of the pure E2 type in nuclei with charge Z = 56–78 and in the energy interval of 80–600 keV. The results are in good agreement with recent theoretical values of Bhalla and Pauli. The measurement of (N+O)/M ratios showed that in calculating the total conversion coefficient the N+O shells can be accounted for using the relation α(N + O) = 0.26 αM.
