Decays of 108m+gIn and 106m+gIn

Abstract

The isotopes 108Cd and 106Cd have been studied from the β+/EC decay of 108m + gIn and 106m + gIn with the ISOCELE facility. Gamma-ray, conversion electron, γγt and eγt coincidence measurements have been performed and level schemes of 108Cd and 106Cd have been built. A 0+ excited state has been clearly established at 1913.2 keV in 108Cd. The properties of the excited states are discussed in terms of the vibrator-plus-particle approach and the interacting boson approximation. The present results lead us to assign the spin and parity value Iπ = 7+ for the isomeric state in 108In and in 106In; this is discussed in the framework of the jj-coupling model.
