Spectroscopic properties of some odd-A Re, Ir and Au isotopes: A self-consistent approach

Abstract

Using the quasiparticle wave functions calculated self-consistently with the Skyrme SIII force, spectroscopic properties of odd-A 183–187Re, 185–191Ir, 183–191Au isotopes have been studied in the framework of the rotor-plus-quasiparticle model assuming axial symmetry. Most of the experimental data are satisfactorily reproduced with the assumed symmetry. Our calculations, however, are unable to explain the location of the 72 states, the staggering of the members of the h112 system in Ir and Au isotopes, or the staggering of the members of the h92 system in 191Au. The axial-symmetry assumption should probably be released in order to account for these points.
