Abstract

Mass and angular correlations between projectile and target fragments produced in the reaction 40Ar + 27Al at Elab=44MeV/nucleon have been measured. The observed mass correlation is consistent with that predicted by the abrasion model. However, the strong angular correlation between the fragments shows that there is in the reaction a strong interaction between the two abraded fragments.
