Désintégration β de 30Al

Abstract

Gamma rays following the β decay of 30Al have been investigated with a Ge(Li) detector. The 30A1 sources were produced by fast neutron bombardment of an enriched 30Si sample. Evidence for two previously unreported β branches has been deduced. The existence of allowed β transitions to Jπ = 2+ and 3+ states and to the Jπ = 4+ level at 5.95 MeV determines Jπ = 3 + for the 30Al ground state (T12 = 3.56 ± 0.02 s). These results are compared to a recent shell-model calculation.
