Experimental determination of the low mass I = 0 S-wave ππ phase shift using a method which is consistent with the off-mass-shell dependence of current algebra

Abstract

The forward-backward asymmetry α(s,Δ2) has been extrapolated to both the pion pole and to the ππ threshold in a manner that is consistent with the general form of the off-mass-shell dependence of current algebra. We have determined the P-wave and the isoscalar S-wave ππ phase shifts near threshold.
