The scattering of polarized protons from Si in the giant resonance region of 29P

Abstract

A simultaneous measurement has been made of analyzing powers and cross sections of protons scattered elastically from Si between 17 and 29 MeV. An optical model analysis shows an anomalous non-monotonic behavior of the spin orbit potential in this energy region.
