Abstract

Results from the WA80 experiment on transverse energy production, proton and neutral pion distributions in 60 and 200 A. GeV heavy ion reactions are presented. Energy density estimates are given. The target dependence of the transverse energy produced in the target region is investigated. Proton distributions at target rapidity are compared with a model containing an intra-nuclear cascade. The differences between the π0 pT spectra in central and peripheral collisions are shown.
