Abstract

The reactions 152, 154Sm(p, t) have been carried out at a bombarding energy of 20.6 MeV. The angular distributions of the outgoing tritons appear characteristic of the angular momentum transfer but for L = 2 exhibit some variety. The L = 0 cross sections from the present work are compared with existing (t, p) cross sections and support the suggestion of shape coexistence in the transitional nuclei 150Sm and 152Sm.
