Altered expression of ganglioside GM3 molecular species and a potential regulatory role during myoblast differentiation
2017, Journal of Biological ChemistryCitation Excerpt :For anti-GM3 (Neu5Ac) mAb GMR6, positive staining was detected at day 0, and its intensity increased until day 3 and decreased thereafter (Fig. 3B). In contrast, for anti-GM3 (Neu5Gc) mAb GMR8 (20), positive bands were very weak until day 2 then increased gradually after day 3 (Fig. 3B). High GM3 (Neu5Gc) expression was maintained even on day 8.
Enhanced lysosomal pathology caused by β-synuclein mutants linked to dementia with Lewy bodies
2007, Journal of Biological ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Cholera toxin subunit B conjugated with Alexa Fluor 488 was purchased from Molecular Probes (Eugene, OR). We also used rabbit polyclonal antibodies, anti-C-terminal α-syn and anti-β-syn, which we reported previously (7, 27), murine monoclonal antibodies for gangliosides, GM2 and GM3, have also been described previously (28). Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated anti-goat and anti-rabbit antibodies and Alexa Fluor 555-conjugated anti-mouse antibody (Molecular Probes) were used as second antibody.

2000, Methods in EnzymologyCitation Excerpt :Furthermore, the combination of affinity detection on a TLC plate (the HPTLC-overlay technique) has greatly extended the versatility of this method for identification and quantitation of biologically active compounds using specific ligands or antibodies that are capable of binding specifically to glycosphingolipids on the plate. * Many highly specific reagents have been used for TLC-overlay, including specific anti-GSL antibodies and toxins (see reviews5–11). The ability to carry out enzymatic and chemical reactions on the plate to modify the GSL structure further extends the range of this technique.12,13
