Elevated levels of autoantibodies against DNAJC2 in sera of patients with atherosclerotic diseases
2020, HeliyonCitation Excerpt :Hsps comprise several groups based on their molecular weights: small Hsps, Hsp40, Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp90 [47]. An example of the Hsp40 family member is DnaJ with a molecular weight of 41 kDa [48, 49]. DNAJC2, a member of the DnaJ Hsp40 protein family, is a molecular chaperone that is expressed in a wide variety of organisms from bacteria to humans [50, 51].
Phosphorylation of heat shock protein 40 (Hsp40/DnaJB1) by mitogen-activated protein kinase-activated protein kinase 5 (MK5/PRAK)
2014, International Journal of Biochemistry and Cell BiologyCitation Excerpt :The plasmid pEGFP-C1 was obtained from Clontech Laboratories, Inc. (Mountain View, CA, USA). The Flag-Hsp40 plasmid was kindly provided by Dr. Atsushi Muraguchi (Ohtsuka, 1993; Liu et al., 2003). The expression plasmid cDNA/FRT/TO DNAJB1 was purchased from Addgene (Cambridge, MA, USA).
A member of the heat shock protein 40 family, hlj1, binds to the carboxyl tail of the human mu opioid receptor
2006, Brain ResearchCitation Excerpt :It is expressed in skeletal muscle, pancreas, and heart and, to a lesser extent, in brain, placenta, and liver (Hoe et al., 1998). Analysis of the amino acid sequence of hlj1 has shown 84% similarity with the human Dna J homologue (hdj1), also called hsp 40 (Hoe et al., 1998), cloned from the human placenta (Ohtsuka, 1993). Hdj1 interacts with the constitutively expressed hsp 70 homologue, hsc 70, and both are involved in cooperative refolding of denaturated firefly luciferase in an ATP-dependent manner, thus playing an important role as molecular chaperones (Freeman et al., 1995).
Active HSF1 significantly suppresses polyglutamine aggregate formation in cellular and mouse models
2005, Journal of Biological ChemistryEfficient Hsp90-independent in vitro activation by Hsc70 and Hsp40 of duck hepatitis B virus reverse transcriptase, an assumed Hsp90 client protein
2003, Journal of Biological ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Protein concentrations as estimated by Coomassie Blue staining were in the range of 50–200 μg/ml. Hsp40 —The complete human Hsp40 (Hdj1) ORF (33) from plasmid pET-Hsp40 (kindly provided by J. Höhfeld) was amplified by PCR using a primer that replaced the stop codon by an XhoI site. The PCR product was digested with NdeI and XhoI and cloned into the corresponding restriction sites of the vector pET30a(+) (Novagen).
