2022, Field Crops ResearchCitation Excerpt :Low solar radiation during the whole rice growth duration has been reported to reduce the effective panicle number and the number of spikelets per unit area, and finally decreased the yield (Yu et al., 2001; Wu et al., 2019). Continuous rainfall before maturity reduced the radiation, and might cause the loss of soil nutrients, thus decreasing nutrient absorption (Malabuyoc et al., 1993; Yu et al., 2001). In addition, the reduction in solar radiation affected the accumulation and translocation of photo assimilate.
