Low levels of plasma LPL activity are found in subjects with HTG [14,15] and variants in the LPL gene have been observed in these subjects [3,4,6,7,16]. The LPL protein has two structural domains: a large N-terminal domain (amino acid residues 1–315) and a small C-terminal domain (amino acid residues 316–448).
