Abstract
CELLS in the neural tube are usually said to divide with their spindle fibres oriented parallel to the luminal surface1. The plane of cleavage is always at right angles to the direction of the spindle fibres2, and so the cleavage between daughter cells would always be perpendicular to the luminal surface of the neural tube.
