The average equilibrium charge-states of heavy ions with Z > 60 stripped in He and H2

Abstract

The equilibrium charges of heavy ions (61< Z < 101) with energies from 5 to 100 MeV stripped in He and Hz have been measured. New empirical formulae for the average charge state are presented.
