Effect of certain parameters on combustion of zirconium and carbon

  • Published:
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves Aims and scope

Abstract

The combustion of mixtures of Zr and C has been studied. The main factor which determine the combustion of the reacting mixture were established. The rate of combustion and the maximum combustion temperature were largely determined by the grade of the zirconium powder. A relation between the combustion paranteters, composition, time of mixing, relative density, and diameter of sample was established.
