Abstract
The paper describes a magneto-optical method for measuring the surface magnetization of metallic ferromagnets based on Kerr's transversal effect. The form of the magnetization measured on different surfaces is given. It is found that magnetization reversal of the surface usually takes place in a complicated manner as the magnetization reversal of the whole volume of the sample.
