Conclusions

  1. 1.

Stable organomolybdenum derivatives of cymanthrene Cp(CO)3MoC5H4Mn(CO)3, Cp(CO)3Mo· COC5H4Mn(CO)3, and Cp (CO)2(PPh3)MoC5H4Mn(CO)3 have been prepared.

  2. 2.

The σ-bond Mo-C in the σ-cymanthrenyl derivatives of molybdenum Cp (CO)3MoC5H4Mn(CO)3 and Cp(CO)2(PPh3)MoC5H4,Mn(CO)3 is more stable toward electrophilic reagents (hydrochloric acid, mercury salts) than in the σ-phenyl derivative Cp(CO)2(PPh3)MoPh.

  3. 3.

The thermal decomposition of Cp(CO)3MoC5H4Mn(CO)2 yields products of the migration of the cymanthrenyl group into the cyclopentadienyl ring (CO)3MnC5H4C5H4 (CO)3MoMo(CO)3Cp and (CO)3MnC5H4COC5H(CO)3MoMo (CO)3Cp.

  4. 4

The trans-isomer of Cp(CO)2(PPh3)MoCl has been isolated.
