Summary
The inheritance and location of betacyanin production in the cotyledons and hypocotyl have been studied. In the cotyledons these pigments have been located in the lower epidermis. Their production is conditioned by R. In the hypocotyl these pigments have been found in the epidermis. Their production is induced by the complementary alleles Y (or active Yv) and R (or active Rv).
