Administration in mental health Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Staffing a psychiatric unit is not a simple job; activities of psychiatric treatment staff frequently overlap and are not as clearly defined as in a general hospital. The results of a systems study and a time and incidence study are presented to demonstrate a successful collaborative effort with the nursing staff of a psychiatric unit to assess the work load, cost, and staffing needs for their outpatient treatment program.
