Abstract

Frequency detuning in the University of Sydney Gyrotron II has been measured for a number of modes in the vicinity of the TE0 14 1 mode at 183 GHz. The main features of the observations agree with theory and the importance of a detailed knowledge of the electron velocity distribution and the cavity Q's is established.
