Abstract

The single crystals (M 2 Cu 2 O 3 ) m (CuO 2 ) n (M=Ca, Sr, Y, Bi) containing the ladder-type plane Cu 2 O 3 were obtained by the flux method using Bi- and Ba-cuprates as fluxes. The single crystals with m/n-values 5/7 and 1/1 were found to be superconducting (SC) with the onset of the transition at 80 K. The regularities of the SC crystals with the ladder-type structure were discussed from the viewpoint of the crystal chemistry.
