Abstract
The energy spectrum of MO Auger electrons produced in ion-atom collisions is determined by the behaviour of the energyE(R) and the autoionizing widthΓ A (R) of a quasimolecular level as a function of the internuclear distanceR and by the collisional broadening mechanism. The collisional broadening (cb) of a MO-electron spectrum is caused by the nuclear motion and mainly concerns transitions between the quasimolecular autoionizing state and the continuum.
In the present work the dependences of cb on the projectile velocityv p and on the united atomic numberZ of the projectile-target systems are studied.
