Abstract

The unreported platinum isotope,202Pt, has been identified for the first time byγ-ray measurement of chemically separated activities. The reaction204Hg(n, 2pn)202Pt was used to produce202Pt activity. The half-life of202Pt has been determined to be 43.6±15.2h.
