Die pathogenetische Klassifikation der Anämien erfolgt primär auf der Basis ihrer Erythrozytenkinetik (Tabelle 1). Eine große Gruppe verschiedener Anämieformen ist auf eine gestörte Produktion von Erythrozyten zurückzuführen. Die andere große Gruppe umfaßt Anämien durch Blutverlust oder verminderte Erythrozytenlebensdauer. Diagnostik und Differentialdiagnose der letztgenannten Formen sind Gegenstand dieses Beitrags.
