Cortison und Calciumstoffwechsel

Zusammenfassung

Auf Grund verschiedener Angaben in der Literatur wird aus eigener Erfahrung zum Problem Cortison und Calciumstoffwechsel Stellung genommen. Bei kritischer Durchsicht aller vorliegenden Beobachtungen ergibt sich, daß zur Zeit kein Beweis dafür vorhanden ist, daß Cortison, Prednison oder Prednisolon direkt in den Calciumumsatz eingreifen. Bei höher dosierter und länger dauernder Medikation dieser Stoffe kann die Knochengewebsneubildung so beeinträchtigt werden, daß ein Verlust an körpereigenem Calcium resultiert. Auf die intestinale Calciumresorption und die renale Calciumausscheidung üben Cortison und seine Verwandten jedoch anscheinend keinen Einfluß aus. Die praktischen Konsequenzen dieser Erkenntnis werden kurz besprochen.
