Zusammenfassung
Gaschromatographische Analysen der Fettsäuremethylester aus den Gesamtlipoiden des Blutserums von zehn Normalpersonen ergaben, daß auch normalerweise die 3,7,11,15-Tetramethylhexadecansäure (Phytansäure) in geringer Menge als Bestandteil der Blutlipoide vorkommt. Die Herkunft dieser Säure, die bisher nur als pathologischer Bestandteil der Serumlipoide bei Refsum-Syndrom beschrieben wurde, wird diskutiert.
Summary
Gas chromatographic analyses of fatty acid methylesters from total lipids were run on sera from 10 normal individuals. The results indicate the presence of small amounts of 3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadecanoic acid (phytanic acid) in sera of normal individuals. The origin of this fatty acid, which until now has been described only as pathological constituents of blood serum in patients with Refsum-syndrome, is discussed.
