Summary

The LE-phenomenon in NZB mice is more frequent as hitherto known. Employing a sensitive test 31 per cent of the animals (48 per cent of the female and 18 per cent of the male) are found to be positive. Nevertheless the renal lesions in NZB mice with 60 to 70 per cent are twice as frequent as the LE-phenomenon, a fact, which is agreeable with the thesis of an autoimmune glomerulonephritis (without LE-cells) in animal and man.
