Summary

Plasma renin activity was measured in the acute stage of experimental renal hypertension in the rabbit. Plasma renin activity increased in half of the animals after unilateral constriction of renal artery, while it remained normal in almost all animals after bilateral constriction of renal arteries or after constriction of the abdominal aorta. There was no correlation between blood pressure and plasma renin activity.
