Summary
A practicable indirect immunofluorescence technique for the analysis of surface markers of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cells is described. Preliminary results in 10 patients with acute or chronic CSF lymphoplcocytosis of different etiology showed an almost uniform pattern of cell subsets. The majority of CSF cells represented OKT3-positive T lymphocytes with a mean helper (OKT4-positive) to suppressor (OKT8-positive) ratio of 3,4 to 1.
