Langfristige Verträglichkeitsprüfung mit Benperidol an der Katze

Investigation into the chronic toxicity of benperidol in the cat

Summary

Daily doses of 1–10 mg Benperidol were given perorally to cats during 26 months. The general behaviour and the EEG were unchanged during the treatment, in particular no signs of dyskinesia were observed. After discontinuation of the administration, the behaviour and the EEG of the animals stayed normal. Thus no lasting and irreversible side effects could be observed.
