Estimation of thorium, zirconium, aluminium etc. with EDTA and back titration with ferric chloride solution using hydroxy naphthoic acids as indicators

Summary

Cu2+, Ni2+, Cr3+, Bi3+, ZrO2+, Th4+, Pb2+ and Al3+ have been determined by adding an excess of EDTA solution and back titrating with ferric chloride solution, using 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic or 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid as indicator. Good results have been obtained.

Zusammenfassung

Cu2+, Ni2+, Cr3+, Bi3+, ZrO2+, Th4+, Pb2+ und Al3+ wurden bestimmt, indem man einen Überschuß an ÄDTA-Lösung zugab und mit Eisen(III)-chloridlösung zurücktitrierte. Als Indicator wurde 1-Hydroxy-2-naphthoesäure oder 2-Hydroxy-3-naphthoesäure verwendet. Es wurden gute Ergebnisse erzielt.
