Summary
The course of the hydrogenation of nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds (pyridine, quinoline, isoquinoline, 2-methylpyrrole) has been investigated by means of 1H NMR spectrometry under various conditions. The activation energy has been calculated from the relative abundance of aromatic and aliphatic protons in dependence on the temperature of hydrogenation. The contents of elementary hydrogen obtained from the samples by means of the 1H NMR method and the classical method of elemental analysis were in close agreement with a relative error below 8%.
