Study on the kinetics of the reaction of thymol blue with acidic bromate catalysed by Ru(III) or V(V)

Abstract

The kinetics of the reaction between thymol blue and acidic bromate catalysed by Ru(III) or V(V) have been studied by monitoring the absorbance at 544 nm. The reaction showed a complex kinetic behaviour. The possible application to the catalytic determination of Ru(III) and V(V) is discussed.
