Summary

The effect of iron deficiency anaemia and its treatment on the absorption of sulphadimidine has been investigated in adult patients.

The absorption judged by total % of the dose excreted in urine and Cmax, tmax, AUC and Kabs in plasma, was not significantly different before and after iron therapy or correction of anaemia.

However, sulphadimidine absorption by the anaemic patients was significantly greater than in normals.
