Abstract
The economic impact of patients arriving late or not keeping appointments was evaluated. All such patients were recorded throughout three periods at Haukeland Hospital (Norway) and one period at East Hospital (Sweden). The loss in income was assessed as being a minimum of 13 million Swedish kronor per year. We recommend that continuous quality assurance programmes for management be performed at every ra radiology department.
