Spontantumoren des syrischen Goldhamsters

Spontaneous tumors in Syrian Golden Hamsters

  • Published:
Zeitschrift für Krebsforschung und Klinische Onkologie Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

From results of a long-term experiment with 3605 Syrian Golden Hamsters treated with carcinogenic substances and/or cigarette smoke, the problem of spontaneous tumors is discussed. Histologically the tumors are compared with tumors in man. Several tumors, e. g., of the adrenals, may be explained by genetic factors. Results of experiments prove that the hamster is suitable for testing inhalable carcinogenic substances.
