Mit den gestiegenen Anforderungen an die Funktion der Endoskope wurden immer subtilere und empfindlichere Geräte entwickelt. In der endoskopischen minimal invasiven Chirurgie wird besonders offensichtlich, daß mit abnehmender Invasivität der Eingriffe die Aufbereitung der Instrumente wesentlich aufwendiger wird.
