Summary
The ERG response on a complex stimulus, whether continuous or not, is completely determined by three different functions:
-
1.
the unit-response, problably a basic response pattern
-
2.
the memory function, which converts all energies preceding time t into one effective energy at t. It defines the sensitivity of the system once we know
-
3.
the sensitivity as a function of energy.
With the aid of a resulting formula which gives the response on any complex stimulus we could calculate:
-
a.
the amplitude of the end effect
-
b.
the flicker fusion of the ERG for several flash intensities. The results were confirmed experimentally.
Finally attenuation and phase characteristics could be computed for various intensity levels.
